Disconnection of the negative battery terminal, V-bank cover and radiator support seal and removal of the engine under cover are the steps required to remove the front crankshaft seal of the 1GR-FE engine. Next, loosen and remove fan, crankshaft pulley and, lastly, pry out timing gear case oil seal.

How to remove the front crankshaft seal on Toyota Tacoma?

In order to take off the front crankshaft seal of a 2TR-FE, initially, remove the engine under cover bolts (No. 1) and drain coolant.Take off the radiator support, fan shroud and crankshaft pulley.Loose and remove the pulley with special tools and check the crankshaft to see whether it has been damaged.
