Remove the air conditioning compressor bracket, power steering pump adjusting bracket, and pry the pump away from the oil pump body. Detach the timing belt tensioner pulley using a 10 mm hex bit or Allen wrench, then remove the bolts to detach the oil pump from the engine, prying carefully if necessary. Remove the O-ring, oil pressure relief valve snap-ring, retainer, spring, and valve, then use a large Phillips screwdriver to take off the screws retaining the body cover to the rear of the oil pump. Lift off the cover and remove the pump rotors, scraping away any sealant and old gasket material from the pump body and engine block, and clean the mating surfaces with lacquer thinner or acetone. Clean all components with solvent and inspect for wear and damage, checking the oil pressure relief valve sliding surface and valve spring, replacing them as a set if damaged. Measure the clearance of the driven rotor-to-oil pump body, rotor side, and rotor tip with a feeler gauge, comparing to specifications. Pry out the old crankshaft seal, apply multi-purpose grease or engine oil to the new seal's outer edge, and drive it into place with a seal driver and hammer, also greasing the seal lip. Place the drive and driven rotors into the pump body with the marks facing out, pack the pump cavity with petroleum jelly, and install the cover, tightening the screws in a criss-cross pattern. Lubricate the oil pressure relief valve with engine oil and install the valve components in the pump body. In removing the oil pan, begin by taking off the timing belt together with the lower timing belt idler pulley and the crankshaft timing sprocket. Subsequently, unbolt the oil pick-up tube and the alternator and unbolt the air conditioning compressor but retain the refrigeration line and then pull the compressor bracket off. Remove the adjusting bar, pry the power steering pump away from the oil pump body, and the remove the lower timing belt idler pulley. Remove the bolts to take the oil pump avay from the engine; use the flat head screw driver in order to pull it out. The O-ring must be taken off and the oil pressure relief valve assembly also removed; the body cover at the rear of the oil pump has large Philips-head screws which when removed, will allow you to lift the cover to reveal the pump rotors. Scrub all parts thoroughly and visually check the internal elements for any possible signs of wear or damage; the oil pressure relief valve and its spring should be replaced if damaged as they are matched. Using a feeler gauge, check end-play of the driven rotor-to-body, rotor side, and rotor tip with reference to the specified numbers. Fit the oil pump mounting bolts and tighten the same in a diagonal manner, and use a new gasket to fit the oil pick-up tube and tighten the fasteners. Reinstall all the other parts in reverse, put oil, start the car engine, and inspect the car for loss of oil, or oil leakage, and check the engine oil level again.
