Move to an operation of water pump assembly extraction while separating the crankshaft position sensor. Begin by positioning the No. 1 cylinder at TDC/compression and eliminate the crankshaft pulley along with the chain tensioner assembly No.1 followed by timing chain or belt cover sub-assembly and timing chain or belt cover oil seal and crankshaft position sensor plate No.1. First remove the chain tensioner slipper together with the chain sub-assembly before taking out the 2 bolts securing the chain vibration damper No.1. The next step is to detach the oil pump assembly by extracting its 5 bolts until the gasket on the cylinder block can be removed.

When installing the 2AZ-FE lubrication oil pump assembly begin by installing an original gasket then fasten the pump with its three bolts to 19 Nm torque (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf). Follow the timing components section about timing chain service and repair installation to add the chain sub-assembly.
