Oil Pump

The oil pump removal requires disconnecting the battery terminal first and removing the engine under cover on the right-hand side and the front wheel on the right-hand side. First drain engine oil and engine coolant then proceed to remove the fan and generator V belt. The necessary items for removal include vane pump assembly together with generator assembly, engine mounting insulator RH, ignition coil assembly, cylinder head cover sub-assembly and V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly alongside engine mounting bracket RH. Move to an operation of water pump assembly extraction while separating the crankshaft position sensor. Begin by positioning the No. 1 cylinder at TDC/compression and eliminate the crankshaft pulley along with the chain tensioner assembly No.1 followed by timing chain or belt cover sub-assembly and timing chain or belt cover oil seal and crankshaft position sensor plate No.1. First remove the chain tensioner slipper together with the chain sub-assembly before taking out the 2 bolts securing the chain vibration damper No.1. The next step is to detach the oil pump assembly by extracting its 5 bolts until the gasket on the cylinder block can be removed.

Engineering oil should be applied to the oil pump relief valve before inserting the valve along with its spring into the hole. The valve plug requires tightening to 37 Nm (377 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf). Install the oil pump cover on the marked side of the parts using the three screws while torquing them to 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf).
