The Toyota Oil Filler Cap is applied to keep the engine oil out of the dirt, and at the same time maintains the appropriate crank case pressure to ensure that the engine operates smoothly. In case of installing a new Oil Filler Cap, the engine must be switched off and allowed to cool down by parking on even ground. Cleanse the filler neck of grime, loosening the old cap, and bearing in mind not to leave any rubber gasket. Inspect, threads, and seal on the new piece, and line it with the opening, and then tighten it with the hand, but not by forcible means. Turn on the engine and listen and look at any leaks or strange smells and then take a short drive and recheck oil filler hood to ensure that the Oil Filler Cap remains taut.
