To replace the floor shift cable transmission control shift, first remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assy, air conditioning radiator assy, air bag sensor assy center, battery, air cleaner assy, air cleaner hose No.1, and intake air resonator sub-assy. Disconnect shift cable grommet retainer No.2 by removing the 2 bolts, then remove the floor shift cable transmission control shift by taking off the nut from the control shaft lever, disconnecting the control cable from the control shaft lever, removing the clip to disconnect the control cable from the control cable bracket, disconnecting the control cable from the control cable clamp, disconnecting the floor shift cable from the transmission floor shift assy, pulling out the control cable from the body, and removing the shift cable grommet retainer No.2. Insert the control cable into the body before installing the shift cable grommet retainer No.2 to the floor shift cable and placing the floor shift cable with uneven surface facing upward to achieve proper claw engagement. First connect the control cable to its clamp followed by attaching cable and new clip to the bracket then temporarily attach the control cable on the control shaft lever with nuts installed. After installing the shift cable grommet retainer No.2 through its 2 bolts with 4.9 Nm torque (50 kgf-cm / 43 inch lbs.) the team should put the air bag sensor assy center and air conditioning radiator assy into place while making necessary shift lever position adjustments and inspecting before reinstalling the intake air resonator sub-assy and its components (air cleaner hose No.1, air cleaner assy, and battery).
