The first step in removing the A750E automatic transmission's transmission control cable for column shift type involves disconnection of the cable from the negative battery terminal and at minimum 90-second waiting period to stop air bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The following steps include the front door scuff plate LH removal from regular cab or double cab models followed by the removal of the cowl side trim board LH. After disconnecting the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly LH and the NO. 1 instrument panel safety pad insert and center lower instrument cover the technician can start the replacement process. The next step involves taking out the steering pad regardless of switch presence before proceeding to remove the
Steering Wheel assembly, the lower steering column cover, and the upper steering column cover. Proceed to take out the front seat assembly LH based on whether it is a manual or power seat type. Finally, to disconnect the column shift transmission control cable assembly, move the shift lever to the n position, roll up the floor carpet on the front LH side, disconnect the cable end from the column shift, press the outer cable socket's claws to disconnect it from the steering column shaft bracket, remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 cable clamps, then remove the nut and clip to disconnect the transmission control cable from the automatic transmission, remove the nut to disconnect the transmission control cable support, and finish by removing the 2 bolts to take out the column shift transmission control cable toward the vehicle interior.
