Shift Control Cable

The procedure to remove the A340E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE starts by taking out the console upper rear panel sub-assembly followed by the console box assembly rear, instrument panel cup holder tray and concluding with the console box front. After removing the voltage inverter assembly with Inverter the work moves towards taking out the transmission control cable assembly. First disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly by removing its clip and then unfasten the 2 assembly-borne nuts to separate it from the body. The body will be disconnected from the transmission control cable assembly by first removing its nut followed by taking off the clip and transmission control cable bracket and finally removing the nut and the transmission control cable assembly itself.

The transmission control cable servicing procedures start with console upper rear panel sub-assembly removal before progressing to the console box assembly rear and instrument panel cup holder tray and console box front. The service starts by eliminating the voltage inverter assembly (w/Voltage Inverter) and proceeding to the transmission control cable assembly. The shift lever assembly requires removal to disengage the transmission control cable assembly with its clip followed by a disconnect of the cable. The transmission control cable assembly separates from the body when both 2 nuts are removed along with the cable assembly bracket including its clip. To install the transmission control cable assembly begin by using a 14 Nm torque to fasten the nut while ensuring proper installation of the cable with the nut. Proceed by attaching the transmission control cable bracket and lock plate before fastening the cable with the nut to the body at 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 inch lbs.). The remaining two cable nuts to the body need equal torque. Proceed to link the cable with the lock plate to the floor shift assembly then place the cable appropriately on the floor shift assembly. Install the voltage inverter assembly with its inverter at the same time as adding the other components of console box front, instrument panel cup holder tray and console box assembly rear along with console upper rear panel sub-assembly. End the procedure by adjusting and checking the shift lever position.

Connect the cable with the lock plate to the floor shift assembly before installing the cable onto the floor shift assembly.

Connect the cable with the lock plate to the floor shift assembly and install the cable onto the floor shift assembly.

Connect the transmission control cable with the two nuts to the body, again using a torque of 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf).

Connect the cable with the lock plate to the floor shift assembly and install the cable onto the floor shift assembly.
