How to install the rear door lock on 2009 Scion xD?

The installation process of the rear door lock requires new packing material for the connecting part after previously removed door lock replacement. Also ensure the packing surface remains free of grease or dirt. Plug in the sliding and rotating parts of the front door lock with MP grease before you attach the rear door inside locking cable and push in the 3 claws to finish with the cover installation. Move to the installation of rear door lock remote control cable so engage the claw and close the cover. Place the new door lock wire harness seal onto the rear door lock and place the rear door lock into the release plate of the rear door outside handle before setting it to the rear door panel while verifying correct lock engagement. Secure the rear door lock with three screws by applying Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent to their threads and installing them with a "TORX" socket wrench T30 while reaching a torque of 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf). The installation requires attaching the connector followed by the rear door window regulator sub-assembly as well as the rear door glass sub-assembly and other components in the specified order. Fasten the cable to the negative battery terminal while tightening it to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf).
