The procedure for installing the front door lock begins with replacing worn packing materials along the connecting components while ensuring that any surface grease or dirt remains absent from the packing. The front door lock requires an application of MP grease to its sliding along with rotating components before installing the inside locking cable of the door which engages the three claws underneath its cover. The installation involves adding a new door lock wire harness seal together with the front door lock remote control cable onto the front door lock. Securely mount the front door lock open rod within the front door lock framework before positioning it against the front door outside handle frame. The front door lock requires Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324 or Three Bond 1324 or an equivalent before installation with a "TORX" socket wrench T30 to affix the 3 screws at 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf) torque. Connect the connector, then proceed to install the front door outside handle cover, separation door stiffener cushion, front door frame rear lower sub-assembly, front door window regulator sub-assembly, front door glass run, front door glass sub-assembly, front door service hole cover, front door trim bracket, front door belt moulding assembly, outer rear view mirror assembly, front door glass inner Weather Strip, front door trim board sub-assembly, front door inside handle bezel, front door lower frame bracket garnish, and front armrest base upper panel. Finish the installation by connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal with a tightness force of 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf).

The first step for installing a front door lock requires replacement of existing door lock packing with new material after cleaning the packing surface free of dirt and grease. Use MP grease for all sliding and rotating front door lock components before you install the front door inside locking cable along with engaging its three claws to close the cover. Afterward install the front door lock remote control cable together with a new door lock wire harness seal on the front door lock. Install the front door lock open rod to its designated place within the front door lock and secure it against the front door outside handle frame. With Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324 or Three Bond 1324 along with its equivalent, apply adhesive to front door lock screws before installing them using a TORX socket wrench T30 equipped with 5.0 Nm torque (51 kgf-cm or 44 in-lbf). Connect the connector, then proceed to install the front door outside handle cover, separation door stiffener cushion, front door frame rear lower sub-assembly, front door window regulator sub-assembly, front door glass run, front door glass sub-assembly, front door service hole cover, front door trim bracket, front door belt moulding assembly, outer rear view mirror assembly, front door glass inner Weather Strip, front door trim board sub-assembly, front door inside handle bezel, front door lower frame bracket garnish, and front armrest base upper panel. The cable needs to be fastened to the negative battery terminal with 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf) of torque.

The rear door locking system requires installing the inside locking cable assembly for both types of setups in which you can find the power door lock capability with the necessary claw engagement. Consecutively mount the rear door lock remote control cable assembly though you must clamp the claw when you have a power door lock installed. The rear door outside handle release plate must have the rear door lock assembly fitted securely using MP grease on its sliding parts before inserting it into position with 3 "TORX" socket wrench (T30) screws that need 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf) torque adjustment. The rear door lock assembly with power door lock requires replacement of the door lock wiring harness seal with new along with MP grease application when installing a new seal and using exactly the same installation methods previously employed while connecting the connector. Put in place the rear door glass run before installing the rear door glass sub-assembly followed by the rear door rear guide seal and rear door rear window guide sub-assembly and service hole cover for both configurations along with the rear door inner glass Weather Strip then the inside handle sub-assembly followed by the trim board sub-assembly and both types of armrest upper base panel next to installing inside handle bezel and finally the rear door window regulator handle assembly for non-power window vehicles.

Begin crewmax rear door lock installation by putting in the rear door inside locking cable assembly LH and following it with the rear door lock remote control cable assembly LH. Begin with installing the rear door lock assembly LH followed by installing the rear door glass sub-assembly LH and afterward installing the rear door rear lower window frame sub-assembly LH. Installation of the rear door glass run LH requires completion before adding the rear door service hole cover LH. The installer should begin by placing the rear No. 2 door trim bracket followed by the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH installation. Install the rear door armrest cover LH as well as the courtesy light assembly and the rear door frame garnish LH. You should install the rear upper door armrest base panel LH followed by the rear door inside handle bezel plug LH. Connect the cable to the negative battery terminal before moving on to notice that initialization procedures might be needed for certain systems after cable reconnection.

Install the new door lock wiring harness seal.

Remove the front armrest base upper panel, front door lower frame bracket garnish, front door inside handle bezel, and front door trim board sub-assembly.

Insert the front door lock open rod into the front door lock and set it to the front door outside handle frame, ensuring it is securely connected.

Apply MP grease.

Apply MP grease.

Take off the outer rear view mirror assembly, front door belt moulding assembly, front door trim bracket, front door service hole cover, front door glass sub-assembly, and front door glass run.

Install the rear door inside locking cable, engage the 3 claws, and close the cover.

Remove the front door lock open rod from the front door lock, take off the door lock wire harness seal from the front door lock, and remove the front door lock remote control cable.

Install the rear door window regulator sub-assembly, rear door glass sub-assembly, rear door quarter window weatherstrip, rear door window division bar sub-assembly, rear door glass run, rear door belt moulding assembly, rear door weatherstrip, rear door service hole cover, rear door trim bracket, rear door trim board sub-assembly, rear door inside handle bezel, and rear door armrest base upper panel.

Insert the front door lock open rod into the assembly and set it to the front door outside handle frame, ensuring a secure connection.

First, remove the luggage compartment door cover.

Torque them to 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf).

Use a "TORX" socket wrench T30 to take out the 3 screws, move the rear door lock downward, and pull the release plate out of the rear door outside handle frame.

Remove the rear door armrest base upper panel, inside handle bezel, trim board sub-assembly, trim bracket, service hole cover, and separate the rear door weatherstrip.

Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324, or an equivalent.

Remove the front door lock open rod from the front door lock, take off the door lock wire harness seal, and remove the front door lock remote control cable.

Remove the 2 bolts securing the luggage compartment door lock assembly.

Remove the assembly.

Slide the front door lock assembly downward and pull out the front door lock open rod from the outside handle frame, removing the assembly and cables as a unit.

Remove the front door frame rear lower sub-assembly, separation door stiffener cushion, and front door outside handle cover.

Use a screwdriver to disengage the 3 claws, ensuring to tape the screwdriver tip before use, and remove the front door inside locking cable assembly.

Install the rear door lock remote control cable assembly, again engaging the claw if the power door lock is present.

Use a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape.

Remove the front No. 1 speaker assembly, service hole cover, glass sub-assembly, and rear lower frame sub-assembly, followed by the outside handle cover.

Use a "TORX" socket wrench T30 to remove the 3 screws, then move the rear door lock downward and pull the release plate out of the rear door outside handle frame.

Some systems may require initialization.

Again, using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws and open the cover to remove the rear door inside locking cable.

Install a new door lock wiring harness seal.

Use 3 screws and apply a torque of 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf).

Remove the front lower door frame bracket garnish LH, the front door armrest base panel assembly LH, the front door inside handle bezel LH, and the door assist grip cover LH.

Replace the door lock wiring harness seal with a new one, avoiding grease or dust on the seal surface to prevent water intrusion and potential malfunction. Then, apply MP grease, insert the front door lock open rod, ensure a secure connection, and install the assembly with the same torque specifications.

Remove the front door inside handle bezel.

Some systems may require initialization after reconnecting the cable.

Install the inside handle bezel and window regulator handle assembly.

5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf).

Install a new door lock wiring harness seal and insert the front door lock open rod, ensuring it is securely connected.

Take out the front door glass sub-assembly, which may vary based on the presence of a power window.

Use a T30 "TORX" wrench to take out the 3 screws, being cautious as the door lock may fall and become damaged.

Remove the rear door inside handle bezel.

Use a screwdriver wrapped in protective tape to disengage the claw to open the cover.

A "TORX" socket wrench T30.

Use a T30 "TORX" wrench to install the door lock with three screws, torqued to 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf).

The front door inside locking cable and engage the 3 claws to close the cover.

Remove the rear door lock remote control cable.

Use a T30 "TORX" socket wrench to install the front door lock assembly with 3 screws, torqued to 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf).

Proceed to remove the front door trim board sub-assembly LH, the front No. 1 door trim bracket, the front door service hole cover LH, and the front door rear lower frame sub-assembly LH.

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws to open the cover.

To allow the navigation system to record memory and settings.

Remove the front door inside handle bezel plug, the front armrest upper base panel, and the front door window regulator handle assembly (without power window).

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and wait at least 90 seconds to disable the SRS system.

Take out the rear door trim board sub-assembly and the rear door inside handle sub-assembly.

Remove the front door lock assembly, the front door lock remote control cable assembly, and finally, the front door inside locking cable assembly.

Install the rear door inside handle bezel plug LH.

A T30 "TORX" socket wrench is required to install the rear door lock assembly with 3 screws, torquing them to 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf).
