How to install the front door lock on 2010 Scion xD?

Before installing the front door lock it is important to replace connecting part packing with new materials while checking that the packing surface remains free of dirt and greasy substances. Apply MP grease to all movable points of the front door lock before installing the front door inside locking cable through its three engaging claws and securing the cover. You should install the front door lock remote control cable together with a new door lock wire harness seal onto the front door lock. Connect the front door lock open rod to the front door lock while setting it for the outside handle frame before ensuring complete connection. Use Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or an equivalent for screw thread application before the installation with a "TORX" socket wrench T30 to insert the front door lock using 3 screws at a torque level of 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf). Follow the connector installation before moving on to add the front door outside handle cover and the remaining pieces which include front door frame rear lower sub-assembly, front door window regulator sub-assembly, front door glass run, front door glass sub-assembly, front door service hole cover, front door trim bracket, front door belt moulding assembly, outer rear view mirror assembly, front door trim board sub-assembly, front door inside handle bezel, front door lower frame bracket garnish, and front armrest base upper panel. Terminally connect the cable to the negative battery terminal while applying a torque force of 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf).
