Q: How to Service and Repair the Speed Sensor in the U241E Automatic Transaxle on Scion tC?
A:
Before removing the Transmission Revolution Sensor from the U241E automatic transaxle the battery must be taken out and the cable disconnected from the negative (-) terminal needs to be left off for at least 90 seconds to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. To detach the nt sensor you should first disconnect the sensor connector followed by removing the bolt then sensor. You should start by disconnecting the sensor connector before removing the bolt and sensor from the nc sensor.
Q: How to install the front speed sensor on Scion xB?
A:
The front speed sensor should be installed onto the steering knuckle through the bolt before tightening it to 8.5 Nm. A sensor check must be performed to verify both the tip and installation space of the speed sensor are free from foreign materials before installation at its original angle. The process starts with attaching clamp C onto the shock absorber before tightening the No. 1 sensor clamp bolt to 29 Nm (296 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf). Keep the flexible hose directly above the front speed sensor during this operation. Fix the No. 2 sensor clamp to the body by tightening its bolt to 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf) followed by mounting clamp B onto the body. Use the speed sensor connector to secure clamp A onto the body housing. You should install the front fender liner and front side mudguard as your last step. Before tightening the front wheel install completion, connect the black negative battery cable to its terminal at 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf) torque. Perform a check of the VSC sensor signal as the last step.
