2007 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the Knock Sensor on 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The Knock Sensor service requires beginning with discharging fuel system pressure followed by disconnecting the negative battery cable for at least 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The service begins with coolant removal followed by V-bank cover sub-assembly removal and fuel return hose and fuel main hose detachment before taking off the intake air connector pipe and intake manifold assembly. The subsequent steps involve disconnecting two knock sensor connectors before removing the air pump assembly and knock control sensor with its accompanying nut and sensors. Start the knock control sensor installation by installing it through the 2 nuts and tighten to 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15ft.lbf). After that, attach the 2 knock sensor connectors. After installing the fuel main and return hoses, connect the air pump assembly and intake manifold assembly before installing the V-bank cover sub-assembly along with the intake air connector pipe. Take the cable to the negative battery terminal before you initialize the system since system adjustments need this step after battery cable reconnection. Finally, check the engine for coolant levels and analyze fuel system and engine coolant leakages before concluding the service.
