Service and repair of the Knock Sensor starts by taking off the V-bank cover and the intake air connector. You must first disconnect the
Throttle Body from the
Intake Manifolds then proceed to take away the upper and lower intake manifolds assembly. Connectors to Knock Sensors 1 and 2 should be disconnected while using an ohmmeter to verify that terminals show no continuity with the sensor body. Use the Special Service Tool 09816-30010 while installing the sensor and tighten it to 45 N.m (450 kgf.cm, 33 ft.lbf). New sensor installation requires reinstalling the upper and lower intake manifolds assembly followed by reconnection of the throttle body to the intake manifolds after which the intake air connector needs reattachment before installing the V-bank cover.
