    A: The service of the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer) requires disconnecting the negative battery cable for 90 seconds as a safety precaution against Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The service starts with draining engine coolant followed by removal of the V-bank cover sub-assembly, intake air connector pipe and throttle body. The service starts with disconnecting the sensor connector followed by removing the engine coolant temperature sensor while also removing its gasket. The installation requires a fresh gasket which must be placed on the sensor before you install it using 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) torque then reattach the sensor connector. After installment of the throttle body and intake air connector pipe the technician must reinstall the V-bank cover sub-assembly. Initializing the system requires reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal before performing the initialization process which might be necessary after reconnecting the cable. Engine coolant should be added followed by leak inspection.
