  A: Before accessing the Camshaft Position Sensor you need to disconnect the negative cable from the battery terminal for minimum 90 seconds which will stop the Air Bags and seat belts pretensioner circuits from activating. The service procedure begins with draining engine coolant before proceeding to remove V-bank cover sub-assembly and intake air connector pipe together with No. 1 radiator hose. First remove the No. 3 timing belt cover subassembly for Bank 1 then continue by taking out the sensor together with its bolt and stud bolt. When reinstalling the camshaft position sensor use the bolt and stud bolt with a torque force of 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf). You need to put back the No. 3 timing belt cover subassembly for Bank 1 and connect the No. 1 radiator hose, install the intake air connector pipe which should be followed by the installation of the V-bank cover sub-assembly. The cable should go back to the negative terminal before conducting the initialization step because some systems need initial setup after reconnecting. The last step of the replacement process involves adding coolant while performing leak inspections.
