Service on the camshaft position sensor begins first with disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable. The camshaft position sensor requires removal after disconnecting its connector followed by bolt removal. First apply engine oil on the O-ring of the camshaft position sensor before mounting it with the bolt which needs to be torqued to 8.5 N.m (87 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf). Check the O-ring for damage then install the camshaft position sensor while ensuring proper torque of 8.5 N.m (87 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf) is used. One must reestablish the grounding cable connection to the negative battery terminal while applying force through a torque of 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf).

Reinstall the No. 3 timing belt cover subassembly for Bank 1, connect the No. 1 radiator hose, install the intake air connector pipe, and then the V-bank cover sub-assembly.

Remove the bolt, stud bolt, and the sensor itself.

Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the new camshaft position sensor.

Connect the cable to the negative battery terminal with a torque of 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf).

Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal with a torque of 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf).

Install the sensor using the bolt, ensuring a torque of 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf) while checking that the O-ring is not cracked or jammed.
