2007 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the Engine Control Module on 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The removal process for an Engine Control Module (ECM) requires first disconnecting the negative battery cable for 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. Start by removing the screws from the glove box compartment door to free it from its place and then proceed with the No. 2 finish panel lower by removing its 3 screws. Start by disconnecting all 5 ECM connectors and proceed to uninstall the ECM through the removal of its 3 screws. Begin ECM installation with screw placement then secure all 3 screws to reach a torque setting of 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf). Afterward, attach the 5 ECM connectors with proper connection. Begin by installing the 3 screws to fix the No. 2 finish panel lower while placing the glove box compartment door second with its 2 screws. After the negative battery terminal cable reconnection you must carry out initialization because some systems need this step when the cable is removed and reconnected.
