2008 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the Engine Control Module on 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: Before installation of the Engine Control Module (ECM) you must clean its seal surface with non-residue solvent while applying a new gasket to the ECM. Install the ECM with 4 bolts where you should apply 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf) torque while double-checking that the gasket remains unfolded and is not trapped and the space between the gasket and surrounding part lacks any foreign material. Connect the 2 ECM connectors while pushing the lock levers downward for securement. Avoid any contact of foreign matter or liquid between connecting points by following a 90 degrees angle for the levers after connection. Verify that all lock levers on the levers are properly closed. After attaching the connector holder block with 3 bolts through torque applications at 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf), connect the cable to the negative battery terminal.
