2008 Toyota Land Cruiser Engine Control Module Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and replace the Engine Control Module (ECM) on 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The first procedure for 3UR-FE engine ECM removal involves disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable. The next step involves removing and moving the connector holder block by taking out its three bolts to gain ECM access. Narrow the two levers and securely push their locks upward while maintaining a 90-degree lock angle to prevent connector damage. After this, the two connectors can be detached. To extract the ECM you must first eliminate its 4 mounting screws and then remove it from its position. To proceed remove the gasket by first applying gasket remover or aligning product to the gasket tape before cautiously removing tape without the use of blades while keeping the ECM connectors covered with a cloth.
