• Q: How to install the ignition coil and spark plugs on 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser?

  A: The 3UR-FE engine control requires the installation of eight spark plugs with 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf) torque before fitting eight ignition coils by securing them with eight bolts to 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf). Install the 8 ignition coils by using 8 bolts which should have a torque setting of 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf) and then connect the 8 ignition coil connectors. Start with the automatic transmission and cylinder head cover by-pass pipe assembly before tightening three bolts to 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf). Finally connect it between the cylinder head cover and timing chain cover through two bolts while applying 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf) torque. Air cleaner assembly installation must be followed by air cleaner hose assembly and V-bank cover sub-assembly and finally the No. 2 engine under cover.
