2006 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the Engine Control Module on 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The first step to remove Engine Control Module (ECM) requires disconnecting the negative battery cable together with a 90-second wait time before sensor activation. Start by disassembling the glove box compartment door through removing two screws and then proceed with the No. 2 finish panel lower removal by unfastening its three screws. Remove the ECM by disconnecting its five connectors first then remove the three screws installed on the ECM. Start the installation process by fastening the ECM with 3 screws at 5.5 N.m torque level (56 kgf.cm and 49 in.lbf). After that securely connect the 5 ECM connectors. Before installation of components proceed by affixing the 3 screws into the No. 2 finish panel lower then using 2 screws to secure the glove box compartment door. After reconnecting the cable to the negative terminal of the battery users should perform initialization since some systems require this step when disconnecting and reconnecting the cable.
