Begin the Heated Oxygen Sensor service by wearing protective gloves along with waiting for an exhaust pipe assembly cool-down before continuing with work. Before moving forward disconnect the negative battery cable yet maintain at least ninety seconds of wait time to block Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. Bank 1 Sensor 2 requires disconnecting its connector before using Special Service Tool: 09224-00010 to fully remove the sensor. The installation procedure should also be performed with Bank 2 Sensor 2. Both sensor installation banks require Special Service Tool: 09224-00010 which should be used to apply torque to 40 N.m (408 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf) with the tool or 44 N.m (449 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) without it while using a torque wrench with a 30 cm (11.81 in.) fulcrum length. The installation requires reconnection of the cable to the negative battery terminal followed by initialization procedures to reset systems that need battery disconnect/connect procedures.
