2006 Toyota Land Cruiser Ignition Coil Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the ignition coil on 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: Begin service of the ignition coil by separating the cable from the negative terminal of the battery then allowing at least 90 seconds to pass to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The first task consists of removing the V-bank cover sub-assembly then completing the intake air connector pipe removal. Detach the engine wire by unclipping the 2 engine wire clamps on the cylinder head cover located on the left-hand side. You need to remove the ignition coil assembly after discharging the connector and unthreading the bolt. First install the ignition coil assembly with its bolt at 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in..lbf) while reconnecting the connector. Connect the engine wire through the placement of 2 engine wire clamps onto the cylinder head cover on the left-hand side while reinstalling the intake air connector pipe and the V-bank cover sub-assembly. Initialization steps need to be performed after battery cable reconnect because some systems need it when the cable is removed.
