    Q:
How to service the ignition coil on Toyota Land Cruiser? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin service of the ignition coil by separating the cable from the negative terminal of the battery then allowing at least 90 seconds to pass to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The first task consists of removing the V-bank cover sub-assembly then completing the intake air connector pipe removal. Detach the engine wire by unclipping the 2 engine wire clamps on the cylinder head cover located on the left-hand side. You need to remove the ignition coil assembly after discharging the connector and unthreading the bolt. First install the ignition coil assembly with its bolt at 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in..lbf) while reconnecting the connector. Connect the engine wire through the placement of 2 engine wire clamps onto the cylinder head cover on the left-hand side while reinstalling the intake air connector pipe and the V-bank cover sub-assembly. Initialization steps need to be performed after battery cable reconnect because some systems need it when the cable is removed.

    Q:
How to install the ignition coil and spark plugs on Toyota Sequoia? Posted by Customer
    A:
The proper torque setting for installing spark plugs and ignition coils using a 16 mm plug wrench on the 2UZ-FE engine is 18 Nm or 178 kgf-cm or 13 ft-lbf. Connect the 8 ignition coil assembly connectors after installing the 8 ignition coil assemblies with the 8 bolts that should be tightened to 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf). The installation of Bank 2's air switching valve assembly must be performed first followed by attachment of the No. 2 air tube and the No. 2 air injection system hose. Next install the front fender apron seal RH after connection of the No. 1 water by-pass pipe. The air switching valve assembly for Bank 1 and No. 3 air tube installation needs to be completed followed by No. 2 air hose connection before adding the front fender apron seal LH. Install both the air cleaner hose assembly and the throttle body cover assembly as the last step.

    Q:
How to service the ignition coil on Toyota Tundra? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service of the ignition coil starts by removing the V-bank cover followed by unattachment of the No. 2 air cleaner hose before taking out the air cleaner assembly with element. The sequence starts with disconnecting the 6 ignition coil connectors and continues by removing the 6 bolts accompanied by the 6 ignition coils. A 16 mm plug wrench should be used for removing the spark plugs. The technician should use a 16 mm plug wrench to install the spark plug before tightening it to 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm; 15 ft.lbf). Follow by attaching the 6 ignition coils with the 6 bolts and tightening them to 9.0 N.m (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf) before reconnecting the 6 ignition coil connectors. Put back the air cleaner assembly with element along with the No. 2 air cleaner hose followed by the V-bank cover.
