2006 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The first step for Crankshaft Position Sensor servicing requires discharging the battery cable negatively for at least 90 seconds to deactivate Air Bags and seat belt pretensioners. Detach the No. 1 engine under cover before disconnecting the sensor connector and finally removing bolt and sensor. Mount the sensor by placing it on the bolt and tightening it properly to 6.5 N.m torque along with 66 kgf.cm or 57 in.lbf. Connect the sensor connector afterward. You should put back the No. 1 engine under cover before connecting the battery cable to the negative terminal. The last step included system initialization which might be necessary after reconnecting or disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal.
