How to remove and replace the starter motor on Scion xB?

In order to fit the starter motor to the 2AZ-FE engine, disconnect the negative battery terminal, and remove the air cleaner cap and filter followed by the air cleaner case. In case of manual transaxle, disconnect terminal 50 and remove nut of terminal 30 and starter assembly. In case of automatic transaxle, repeat the steps.

How to install the Starter Motor on Scion xB?

For 2AZ-FE: Manual-secure starter and clutch hose bracket, 3 bolts (A 37 Nm, B 12 Nm); connect terminal 30 (nut/cap 9.8 Nm) and terminal 50. Auto-2 bolts (37 Nm); same connections. Install air cleaner case (3 bolts 7.0 Nm), filter, cap; tighten clamp; connect MAF; reconnect negative cable (5.4 Nm).
