Scion xB TPMS Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the TPMS Sensor and Transmitter on Scion xB?
A: The first step to remove the Tire Pressure Warning Valve and Transmitter starts with wheel removal from both front and rear positions of the vehicle. The tire requires air evacuation through the process of removing the valve cap along with the valve core. The removal process starts with allowing sufficient air to escape from the tire by dropping the valve and transmitter unit inside. Then loosen the washer and nut from the valve and transmitter. Put both removed components temporarily aside because you will need them afterward. When putting down the valve and transmitter into the tire take the tire remover shoe to disengage the bead while avoiding damage to the valve and transmitter because of tire bead interference. First remove the bead on the upper side following normal procedures then extract the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter from the tire before you proceed with removing the bead from the lower side according to standard practice. When repairing the tire pressure warning system it is best to remove the grommet together with washer and nut although the grommet shows no visible damage.
