Begin the service process by disconnecting the lead wire from the magnet starter switch body while removing its attached nut. The switch body and return spring and plunger must then be removed after both the 2 switch body screws are taken away. You should detach the starter commutator end frame cover using a screwdriver. Start by removing the two through bolts to extract the starter yoke and commutator end frame combo unit before breaking them apart at their interface. Snap ring pliers remove the snap ring together with the plate washer allowing you to take out the starter armature from the commutator end frame. Dead the starter armature plate off the starter yoke before detaching the 3 planet gears. To remove the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly perform a simultaneous removal with the drive lever set pin from the starter drive housing followed by removing the drive lever set pin from the starter center bearing clutch. Reassembly begins with setting the drive lever set pin at the starter center bearing clutch before inserting it into the starter drive housing. Grease must be applied to the planet gears and planet shaft pins before you put in the three planet gears. The starter yoke must receive the starter armature plate which has its cutout section matching the inside protrusion before securing the assembly. Before installing the armature shaft to the starter commutator end frame, grease both the washer plate and armature shaft. Install the plate washer with snap ring pliers according to the vernier caliper snap ring length reading. Replace the snap ring if it measures more than 5.0 mm (0.197 in). Insert the starter commutator end frame cover as the next step. First place the starter commutator end frame rubber against the yoke cutout before fastening the yoke onto the end frame. The key must be positioned correctly within the starter housing keyway. Secure both through bolts to assemble the starter and apply torque of 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf). The plunger hook of the magnet switch body should receive applied grease before installation onto the drive lever. Put the plunger followed by the return spring into place then fix the magnet switch body to the main assembly using 2 screws which require torquing up to 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf). Secure the lead wire terminal connection using a nut fastened to 10 N.m torque strength amounting to 102 kgf.cm and 7.4 ft.lbf.
