2008 Toyota Highlander Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the rear Sway Bar Kit on 2008 Toyota Highlander?
A: The removal process starts with taking off wheels of 2WD vehicles before you proceed to detach the rear sway bar kit. The rear sway bar link assembly LH can be detached by removing the nut then disassembling it from the rear sway bar kit while utilizing a hexagon wrench (5 mm) to maintain the stud bolt in place when the ball joint rotates with the nut. The same hexagon wrench technique allows you to remove the nut leading to the extraction of the rear sway bar link assembly LH from the rear shock absorber with coil spring LH. The same process should be applied to maintain the rear sway bar link assembly RH. Begin by removing the four sway bar kit bolts until the rear No. 1 sway bar bracket for the LH side can be detached. Proceed identically to install the rear No. 1 sway bar bracket on the right-hand side. First end your work by taking out the rear sway bar bushing from the LH side before moving to the RH side.
