2008 Toyota Highlander Sway Bar Kit Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove the front Sway Bar Kit on 2008 Toyota Highlander?
A: Prior to taking out the front sway bar kit you need to remove the engine assembly with transaxle. The installation of front sway bar link assembly LH requires separating this component through nut removal but ensure the ball joint stability by holding the stud bolt with a 6 mm hexagon wrench. The same procedure should be repeated on the front sway bar link assembly RH. Remove the 2 bolts which keep the No. 1 front sway bar bracket LH attached to the front frame assembly then perform the same tasks on the No. 1 front sway bar bracket RH. Follow this by taking out the front sway bar kit and proceeding to remove the No. 2 front sway bar bracket LH from the front sway bar bushing and doing the same for the No. 2 front sway bar bracket RH. You should disconnect the 2 No. 1 front sway bar bushings that exist on the front sway bar kit.
