How to remove the rear door lock actuator on 2008 Scion xD?

The first step for removing the rear door lock actuator includes disconnecting the negative battery cable connection. The rear door armrest base upper panel, inside handle bezel, trim board sub-assembly, trim bracket and service hole cover must be removed before separating the rear door Weather Strip. Before performing the operation start by taking out the rear door belt moulding assembly as well as glass run and window division bar sub-assembly along with quarter window Weather Strip and glass sub-assembly. Next follow the procedure to detach the rear door window regulator sub-assembly. You need to use a "TORX" socket wrench T30 which will remove the 3 screws from the rear door lock system to allow moving the door lock downward until it frees from the outside handle frame. The door lock wire harness seal needs removal followed by utilizing a screwdriver with protective tape wrapped around the tip to loosen the claw for opening the cover. With a screwdriver protected by tape you need to first remove the rear door lock remote control cable before proceeding to the step where you disengage the 3 claws and open the cover to end up removing the rear door inside locking cable.
