The installation process for the rear axle shaft starts by applying Special Service Tool: 09950-60020 09951-00770 and a hammer to install a new oil seal. To install the rear axle shaft first add a new O-ring then place the shaft with backing plate using 4 nuts that should be torqued to 36 Nm (367 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf). Secure the rear brake tube No. 8 with a union nut wrench that requires 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf) torque. Fasten two bolts through the backing plate to secure the
Parking Brake Cable assembly No. 3 before torquing them to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf). Position the rear
Speed Sensor then put high-temperature grease before installing both the rear and front brake shoes. Check the rear drum brake installation state before moving ahead with the rear brake drum sub-assembly installation. Adjust the rear drum brake shoe clearance before placing the rear wheel which must be torqued to 113 Nm (1,152 kgf-cm, 83 ft-lbf). Torque the cable to 3.9 Nm while connecting it to the negative battery terminal. The braking system requires new brake fluid under two conditions yet VSC engaged or disengaged state. Continue with master cylinder and brake line bleeding procedures. Examine brake fluid levels within the reservoir then conduct checks for any fluid leakages during both scenarios. Testing of parking brake pedal movement in automatic transmissions and parking brake lever movement in manuals will require any needed modifications. The VSC sensor signal and the ABS sensor signal should be checked separately with VSC enabled and disabled.
