    Before removing the rear axle shaft assembly it is necessary to disconnect the negative battery terminal cable followed by removing the rear wheel and draining brake fluid. The service technician must start by removing the rear brake drum sub-assembly then moving to both front and rear brake shoes. Disconnect the parking brake cable assembly No. 3 from the backing plate by taking out its 2 bolts followed by cable separation. Detach the rear brake tube No. 8 with a union nut wrench while using a container to collect the flowing brake fluid. The removal process starts with the rear axle shaft with backing plate when users detach the 4 nuts and backing plate before they extract the O-ring. To finish the process you require Special Service Tool: 09308-00010 to take out the rear axle shaft oil seal.
