How to replace the Rear Wheel Hub & Bearing Assembly LH on Toyota Highlander?

The first step to replace the Rear Wheel Hub & Bearing Assembly LH is to take off the rear wheel. Disassemble the rear disc brake caliper by breaking the bolt securing the flexible hose and then removing the two brake caliper securing bolts while securely supporting the caliper. The following step requires disc removal while also unconnecting the speed sensor wire through its connector. Move on to the removal of the rear wheel hub assembly through bolt extraction of the four attachments. The new wheel hub will be installed while tightening its four bolts to 80 Nm (816 kgf-cm, 59 ft. lbs.) torque setting. Secure the speed sensor wire connection through its connector plug. To check the bearing backlash, place a dial indicator at the hub center and ensure the backlash remains under 0.05 mm (0.0020 inch) or replace the wheel hub assembly. The wheel hub must be replaced if the dial indicator readings from the hub bolt surface outside measurement reach 0.07 mm (0.0028 inch). Reinstall the rear disc brake caliper assembly by fastening its two bolts to 61.8 Nm (630 kgf-cm, 46 ft. lbs.) torque and connecting the flexible hose directly afterward with a torque of 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.). Finish by reattaching the rear wheel with 103 Nm torque and check the ABS speed sensor signal while inspecting and adjusting the rear wheel alignment.
