The Camshaft Bearing itself is a fine metal shell which holds the journals of the camshaft in place creating a stable film of oil to prevent wear and tear. In order to install Scion Camshaft Bearing, the battery, oil and valve cover and timing parts should be disconnected, then the camshaft should be slid. Wipe block bores and cam journals, clean and inspect, and then verify that there is no debris or oil blockage. Wipe the new Camshaft Bearing lightly with fresh oil, position the oil hole thereof in the same direction with the block channel, and insert it firmly into the bore with a driver tool. Repeat in the same way until all the positions have been done, it may require de-burring of any sharp edges, it should be reassembled with the camshaft back in place, turned by hand to enable smooth rotation, clearance checked, oil primed, timing parts installed again, oil added and the engine started to ensure it is running quietly.
