Scion Intake Valve allows the Scion engine to open up the throttle and increase the throttle response and fuel economy. Designed to fit the bouncy mood of Scion drivers, the valve promotes spirited revs that fit the brand name of compact cars that are zippy. Introduced in 2003, the brand appealed to the youth with no haggle pricing, wild Release Series colors and virtual city experience and, even after production has ceased in 2016, its experimental DNA continues to influence affordable performance. Each Scion vehicle encouraged customization with an owner making each ride a statement and also being the test lab of Toyota to give fresh ideas. The Intake Valve opens to the correct point to allow the air fuel mixture to rush in and closes to seal the compression, thus a healthy Intake Valve is essential in generating power and in regulating the emission. Removing an old Intake Valve in a Scion engine requires firstly, disconnection of the battery, valve cover and rocker hardware and turning the cam in such a way that the spring is in the relaxed position before being removed. Unspring the spring, and remove the keepers, and move the worn valve off. Wipe off the guide and the seat, replace the stem seal with a new one, lap the seat lightly and then insert the new Intake Valve and make sure everything moves easily. Install the spring and retainer, install the keepers, adjust the valve lash to spec, reattach timing components, tighten the cover, reconnect the components, and start the car to ensure it idles quietly to keep your Scion as responsive as possible.
