The first step towards installing a new Scion Oil Pan is to park on a flat surface, hold the chassis level on jack stands and empty the old oil. Then loosen the old pan with unbolts and plane off the block-surface till it is smooth and shiny. Clean up the pickup screen and baffle, repair with a new gasket and thin sealant, install the replacement Oil Pan without tilting. Thread every bolt by hand, screw them in cross pattern, to the required amount of torque, reattach the plug, reconnect shields, add the required amount of oil, and run the engine before bringing your Scion to the road.
