Scion Harmonic Balancer keeps the crankshaft of your lively compact running smooth, and it continues the same inventive spirit that made Scion such a hit among young drivers that adored limited Release Series colors and a buying experience that did not include long and confusing trim lists. Scion was a personal playground because the buyers could easily customize and join Virtual Scion City online and got the feeling that every vehicle was an experiment by Toyota. The brand emerged in 2003, sold over a million units to a large number of first time owners and although no more production was done in 2016 the Scion legacy is still evident in the small cars of today which value uniqueness. A Harmonic Balancer is a bonded metal hub attached to an elastomer ring which absorbs twisting vibration to prevent crankshaft and any other damage. In order to install the new Harmonic Balancer, one needs to disconnect battery, slide off serpentine belt and get rid of the crank pulley after loosening the central bolt. Fit a puller and pull the old balancer out of the crank snout, and wipe the surfaces and check the keyway and front seal. Oil the mating area lightly, place the key, insert an installer tool and firmly press the fresh Harmonic Balancer in until it clips. Install the pulley and belt back again, tighten the bolt to specification, move the engine by hand to make sure it is straight, reconnect the battery, start the car and wait until the engine is steadily idling.
