2010 Toyota Yaris Knock Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the knock sensor on 2010 Toyota Yaris?
A: The first step to remove the knock sensor from the 1NZ-FE engine control system requires disconnecting the battery cable from the negative terminal. The first step involves draining the engine coolant before proceeding to remove the cylinder head cover No. 2. Take off the air cleaner cap sub-assembly combined with air cleaner hose Number 1. Separate the water by-pass hose from both No. 2 and the initial units. Begin by taking out the throttle with motor body assembly before proceeding to the intake manifold which requires separation of engine wire harness followed by water by-pass hose No. 2 removal and ventilation hose detachments along with the union to connector tube hose disconnection. The intake manifold requires removal of both the three bolts and two nuts through which you can eliminate the gasket. The final step involves removing the knock sensor by disconnecting the connector followed by removing its nut.
