The first step for installing a crankshaft position sensor for the 1NZ-FE engine control system requires applying engine oil to the O-ring on the sensor. The sensor should be installed alongside the bolt and receive 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf) torque but the O-ring must not experience twisting motion. Attach the crankshaft position sensor connector as the following step. The negative battery terminal requires connection with the cable through an application of 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf) torque. End the procedure by examining for engine oil leaks then installing the right-hand under cover of the engine.
