    A: The 1NZ-FE engine control system requires installation of the engine coolant temperature sensor through a new gasket using a provisionary method first. Special Service Tool: 09817-33190 should be used to tighten the sensor until it reaches 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf) torque. After the sensor installation uses a new gasket follow up with connecting the engine coolant temperature sensor connector. The cable needs to be connected to the negative battery terminal while applying 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf) torque. The procedure ends with engine coolant addition followed by leakage inspection of the engine coolant system.
