2009 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the ignition coil and spark plugs on 2009 Toyota Sienna?
A: Start the removal process of ignition coil and spark plugs from the 2GR-FE engine by disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable then draining engine coolant. The front wiper arm head cap should be removed first while the right and left front wiper arms need to be taken out next. The first step requires removing both the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly and windshield wiper motor and link assembly. Detach the first cowl top from its brace inner and outer front section on the panel sub-assembly. Next follows the step of taking off the No. 1 engine under cover and the V-bank cover sub-assembly and air cleaner cap sub-assembly. Next proceed to uninstall the intake air surge tank assembly and the No. 1 surge tank stay by disassembling 2 bolts and a nut and disconnecting 2 harness clamps and finally separating the bolt with the No. 1 surge tank stay. To complete the procedure disconnect all ignition coil connectors then remove 6 bolts while removing ignition coils and finally take out the 6 spark plugs.
