2008 Toyota Sequoia Camshaft Position Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2008 Toyota Sequoia?
A: A proper procedure for 2UZ-FE Camshaft Position Sensor replacement starts with discharging fuel system pressure. The first step involves unfastening the No. 1 engine under cover while draining engine coolant before removing the throttle body cover sub-assembly. First disconnect the drive belt before separating the No. 1 radiator hose. The removal process requires uninstallation of the No. 3 timing belt cover sub-assembly LH then the camshaft position sensor requires withdrawing its bolt along with the stud bolt and sensor. The next step involves removing the front wiper aim and blade assembly for both the right and left side respectively and the front fender to cowl side seals on both right and left sides and the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly. Then proceed with removing the front wiper motor assembly together with the links and front cowl top outer panel sub-assembly and air cleaner hose assembly. Detach the vacuum hose assembly after separating the No. 2 water by-pass pipe. Start by unclamping the EFI fuel pipe before disconnecting both No. 2 and No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assemblies. The removal process concludes with the intake manifold and VVT sensor where you should disconnect their 2 connectors and remove their 2 bolts.
