2008 Toyota Highlander Spark Plug Parts Q&A
Q: How to service and repair the spark plugs on 2008 Toyota Highlander?
A: Service and repair the spark plugs on a 2GR-FE engine can commence after removing both the engine under cover assembly and the No. 1 engine under cover. To start begin draining the engine coolant but before doing so remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly. First remove front wiper blades and arm assemblies from both sides of the vehicle then move on to separate the cowl top ventilators followed by uninstalling windshield wiper motors with links. First disconnect the main wire in the engine room while also removing the outer cowl top panel sub-assembly. The first step includes the removal of throttle body bracket and the No. 1 surge tank stay. The technician should first untighten the intake air surge tank assembly and then disconnect the air cleaner cap sub-assembly. The ignition coil assembly needs removal through 4 bolts [A] and nut [B] extraction followed by 2 harness clamp [C] disconnection and cancellation of 6 ignition coil connectors before using bolts and ignition coils for removal. Remove the 6 spark plugs as the final step of the process.
