How to Service and Repair Spark Plugs in the Ignition System on Scion tC? Posted by Customer
    A:
A proper spark plug service for the 2AZ-FE ignition system begins by disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable before waiting 90 seconds to avoid activating seat belts pretensioners and Air Bags. Next, remove the engine cover. The next step requires you to disconnect 4 ignition coil connectors before uninstalling the assembly through removal of its 4 bolts and 4 coils.

    A:
The installation process for 2ZR-FE spark plugs requires a 14 mm spark plug wrench for fitting 4 plugs where torque should reach 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf). The 4 ignition coil bolts receive 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf) torque installation along with caution to avoid damaging the plug cap on the engine head cover opening and the upper edge of the spark plug tube. Q:
How to service and repair the spark plugs on Toyota Highlander? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service and repair the spark plugs on a 2GR-FE engine can commence after removing both the engine under cover assembly and the No. 1 engine under cover. To start begin draining the engine coolant but before doing so remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly. First remove front wiper blades and arm assemblies from both sides of the vehicle then move on to separate the cowl top ventilators followed by uninstalling windshield wiper motors with links. First disconnect the main wire in the engine room while also removing the outer cowl top panel sub-assembly. The first step includes the removal of throttle body bracket and the No. 1 surge tank stay. The technician should first untighten the intake air surge tank assembly and then disconnect the air cleaner cap sub-assembly. The ignition coil assembly needs removal through 4 bolts [A] and nut [B] extraction followed by 2 harness clamp [C] disconnection and cancellation of 6 ignition coil connectors before using bolts and ignition coils for removal. Remove the 6 spark plugs as the final step of the process.
