How to replace the Transfer Case Seal on Toyota 4Runner?

The process to replace the Transfer Case Oil Seal starts with draining transfer oil followed by detachment of the transfer case lower protector and the automatic transmission with transfer. After removing the output shaft companion flange sub-assembly use Special Service Tool: 09308-00010 to extract the transfer case oil seal while preserving the oil-seal-fitted surface of the case. To install the new oil seal begin by greasing its lip with MP grease while driving it into position using Special Service Tool: 09316-60011 (09316-00011) along with a hammer until the surface becomes level with the case upper surface. Reinstall the output shaft companion flange sub-assembly together with the automatic transmission transfer unit and the transfer case lower protector. Complete the procedure by filling the transfer oil reservoir then inspecting the automatic transmission fluid while performing a driving test after vehicle warm-up.

How to replace the Transfer Case Seal on Toyota Sienna?

Starting the replacement process of the Transfer Case Oil Seal (4WD) requires complete disassembly of the engine assembly with transaxle followed by automatic transmission with transfer and transfer assembly elimination. Use Special Service Tool: 09308-00010 to separate the center differential lock sleeve from the transfer case oil seal while protecting the oil-seal-fitted surface of the case. Install the new transfer case oil seal using Special Service Tools 09387-00010 and 09950-70010 (or 09951-07150) while ensuring straight installation and application of MP grease to the lip end of the seal. The process requires center differential lock sleeve replacement after which workers can install the transfer assembly and automatic transmission with transfer before they move to engine assembly with transaxle installation. End the process by inspecting and adjusting the front wheel alignment and checking the ABS speed sensor signal for the ABS with EBD & BA & TRAC & VSC system.
