In order to take off the steering knuckle, remove the front wheel and axle shaft nut first. Disassemble front speed sensor, brake caliper and disc. With 2WD, disconnect the tie rod; with 4WD, disconnect the tie rod, as well. Take the lower suspension arm, axle assembly, ball joint, and hub pieces off and then take the steering knuckle off.
