    A driver must empty fuel system pressure before starting the process to remove the Knock Sensor from a 1GR-FE engine. First disconnect the chain sub-assembly and then take off the No. 1 cool air inlet. The Exhaust Pipe stopper bracket needs to be removed in 4WD models before extracting the No. 2 front exhaust pipe assembly and front exhaust pipe assembly. Remove the manifold stay as well as the exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH after finishing these steps. The work sequence requires removal of the intake manifold with the water by-pass joint RR after disconnecting the No. 1 and No. 2 fuel pipe sub-assemblies. Afterward remove the Camshaft timing gears together with the Bank 1 No. 2 chain before moving on to remove the No. 2 chain tensioner assembly.
