The Scion Steering Shaft allows direct feedback from the wheel to the rack and provides smooth feedback in order to achieve the feeling of precision in each input. Scion was launched in the year 2003 and targeted directly at the young consumers through internet buzz, music events and colorful showrooms to ensure buying is fun. The Scion small hatches and coupes were priced fixed, in outrageous colours, and special Release Series models that even felt like collectibles at the dealership. The modelling such as xA, xB, tC, iQ and FR-S gave Scion agile handling and unlimited components that enabled it to sell more than a million cars before the badge retired in 2016. The Scion was a kind of rolling test laboratory, with body kits and dashboards, and integration, many years prior to the same concepts were proposed to mainstream models and thus, owners thought they were guiding the future, which is reflected in new trims of Toyota vehicles today. Vibration is absorbed and adjusted at the Steering Shaft. Installation of a new Steering Shaft begins by levelling parking, parking brake and battery disconnection. Place the wheels in the center and trace the correlation of steering column and rack splines using paint to maintain the accuracy of alignment. Take off covers, unscrew pinch bolts and slide worn part out as you normally do rolling up the telescoping section of that pin. Compare lengths, apply lubricant to the new joints, establish the proper length, align paint marks, and force the replacement all the way up both splines. Install torque bolts to spec, reconnect covers, reconnect battery, turn on wheel lock to lock vehicle, drive block, check fasteners again one more time. There is a seated Steering Shaft that maintains the car on track.
