Scion Ignition Switch is an instantaneous power switch to the starter and cabin electronics as soon as the key is switched. By abandoning bloated trim lists in favor of an un-fussy one-price strategy, cranking out compact hatches and coupes in strong colors, introducing quirky virtual worlds like Scion City, and keeping its ardor-capturing Release Series of limited-run models, the brand uprooted the car scene, sold more than 1,000,000 cars (mostly to first-time buyers) between 2003 and 2016 by itself, and served as the experimental playground that Toyota could use to put fresh ideas directly to the market without filtering them through. Scion had created loyalty by allowing customers to select wild paints, booming stereos, and factory-sponsored body kits with no dealer games. Along those lines, the Scion Ignition Switch was developed based on a mere keyed cylinder with the addition of a transponder-guarded push button, which not only wakes the ECU but also primes fuel flow and activates components with a single decisive sound. Ignition Switch will withstand arcing and heat damage with strengthened contacts that shake off many cycles of start. When it snows or is in the desert, use the Scion Ignition Switch to maintain constant voltage to ensure the starter fires fast and the dash remains on. The Ignition Switch is also easily replaced in minutes with a harness that is modular and does not require wire splicing.

Scion Ignition Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to install the ignition switch assembly on Scion tC?
    A:
The installation of the 2AZ-FE starting system ignition switch assembly requires locking the stopper with the screw followed by securing the switch with two screws. First connect the unlock warning switch connector to the claw position then apply the cable tie. The installation requires joining the unlock warning switch connector to the ignition switch connector. Install the lower cover of the steering column by using two screws but make a small turn of the steering wheel to get it into position. Complete the battery terminal connection using the cable before executing an initialization procedure because some systems need a reset afterward when disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) terminal.
  • Q: How to remove the ignition switch assembly on Scion xB?
    A:
The process to remove the ignition switch assembly for 2AZ-FE starting system starts with a front-wheel alignment then a negative battery terminal cable removal which requires a 90-second waiting period for safety. The first step requires removal of the steering pad before proceeding to take out the steering wheel assembly. Start by detaching the steering column cover through the following procedure: push each side to release the 4 claws and use fingers in the tilt lever opening to unfasten one more claw then turn the cover to separate the remaining 2 claws. To complete the removal process disconnect the 2 connectors then remove the wire harness clamp before taking out the ignition switch assembly by removing its 2 screws.
