- Q: How to remove the Clock Spring Assembly / Spiral Cable on 2010 Toyota Camry?A: Reading all the safety precautions must be your first step before starting the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring removal process. Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal to wait for 90 seconds before conducting this procedure because this will help avoid Air Bag deployment. Begin by positioning the front wheels directly forward and then remove first the lower steering wheel No.3 cover followed by the No.2 lower steering wheel cover. Once the steering wheel assembly and steering pad are taken away from the assembly, remove the steering column cover as your next step after the other components. Unplug the clock spring steering angle sensor connectors while keeping away from damaging the Air Bag wire harness. Finish the removal of the clock spring with steering angle sensor by first severing its attachment with the 3 claws before separating the clock spring from the steering angle sensor using the remaining 6 claws and 2 pins.
