The installation of the VSC clock spring requires you to use 6 claws for attachment to the steering angle sensor. Stable front wheel alignment combined with the turn signal in neutral position will prevent the pin from breaking. The three claws should be used for clock spring attachment to the steering angle sensor. Hidden lock pins should be removed before steering wheel installation. When connecting the connectors to the steering angle sensor it is essential to handle the Air Bag wire harness while avoiding any damage to it. The installation of the clock spring without VSC requires the same wheel alignment and switch position sequence before using the three claws to place the cable and connect all wires while remaining watchful around the Air Bag connector. To protect the Air Bag avoid deploying it while installing the steering column cover users must switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery negative (-) cable before waiting 90 seconds. The clock spring requires a counterclockwise rotation until it becomes firm before winding it clockwise 2.5 times to match the alignment marks but must never touch the Air Bag wire harness. The next step involves installing the steering wheel assembly followed by examination of the steering wheel center point and finally placing the steering pad and these coverings on No. 3 lower steering wheel and No. 2 lower steering wheel. After securely fastening the cable to the negative battery terminal you need to examine the steering pad followed by a check of the SRS warning light.

The first step to remove the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring requires disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable then waiting 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag activation. The front wheels need to point directly forward. Remove the Steering Wheel covers starting with No. 3 followed by No. 2 and ending with the Steering Pad removal. The next step involves taking away the steering wheel assembly followed by the steering column cover. To remove the clock spring without VSC components connect the power outlets first before disengaging each of the three claws while avoiding damage to the Air Bag wire harness. The clock spring removal procedure requires disconnecting its connectors before disengaging 3 claws to extract the clock spring including its sensor. Disengage the six claws that are keeping the VSC clock spring attached to the steering angle sensor before removing it.

Installation of the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring begins with steering sensor fitting that must align clock spring pins with sensor holes before securing with six claws. First make sure both front wheels are facing forward and the turn signal switch sits in its neutral position to avoid any harm. The installation of the clock spring requires attaching three claws followed by connector connections between the steering sensor and clock spring while maintaining proper distance from the Air Bag wire harness. After that you need to install the steering column covers which exist at the top part and the bottom section. The adjustment of the clock spring requires a safety precaution of switching off the ignition and disconnecting the negative battery terminal for at least ninety seconds to disable the SRS system. After securing the clock spring with steering sensor counterclockwise for a firm hold professionals should turn it clockwise about 2.5 times but ensure they do not alter it with the Air Bag wire harness. The proper installation requires fitting the steering wheel assembly and adjacent components which include the steering pad and lower steering wheel covers on both sides. Complete the connection of the cable to the negative terminal by tightening it to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf). Check that the steering pad and SRS warning light operate properly.

Check that the ignition switch is off and the battery negative (-) cable is disconnected, waiting 90 seconds to prevent airbag deployment.

Install the steering column cover, then check that the power switch is off and the battery negative (-) cable is disconnected, waiting 90 seconds to prevent airbag deployment.

Disconnect the connectors from the spiral cable with steering angle sensor, disengage the 3 claws, and remove it. If applicable, disengage the 6 claws and remove the spiral cable from the steering angle sensor.

Disconnect all connectors from the spiral cable with steering sensor, taking care not to damage the airbag wire harness when handling the airbag connector.

Disconnect the connectors, disengage the 3 claws, and remove it. If applicable, disengage the 6 claws and 2 pins to remove the spiral cable from the steering angle sensor.

Ensure the ignition switch is off and the battery negative (-) cable is disconnected, waiting at least 90 seconds before starting. Rotate the spiral cable counterclockwise until firm, then clockwise approximately 2.5 turns to align the marks, avoiding turning it by the airbag wire harness.

Install the steering wheel assembly, steering pad, and both lower steering wheel covers.
